What is on my mind today?
Performance is all about motivation and ability:
performance = ability x motivation
This equation was published by http://www.mindtools.com/ recently and it makes a lot of sense to me. Even if someone has 100% ability but is only 50% motivated, the result is 50% output. So, what now? How do you address both ability and motivation in your employees?
Let's face it, all businesses aim to make money (lots of it) and you need your people to perform at 100% (or more) to get the results.
I will do some more reasearch and will report back soonest.

Freemind
To anyone out there who needs to sort out their thoughts or tasks, I highly recommend a free download of FREEMIND, a mind mapping tool. Here is the link for the download for various options: http://freemind.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php/Download (you'll need Java).
It's Open Source software that is really very effective. Thanks to all developers, great job.
Have fun with the mindmapping software.

To do list

I am struggling to keep my to do list in one place and to actually make it meaningful. After a lot of searching I have come across this model:
TASKS are either high or low urgency and high or low value-add. I have drafted a To Do List Template, which I will be using to test the results. I will provide feedback on the success and ease of use.

Performance Improvement

After some poor business results, I have embareked on a path of discovery, research, enlightenment and plain trial and error to find a sustainable solution. This blog will detail my path, learning, successes and failures. I will do my best to keep any interested parties up to date and share my sources - why re-invent the wheel?
