What does success look like?

How would you define "success"?

Is it money?
Recognition?
Status?
Freedom?
Fame?
Promotion?

And...

How would you measure success?

Houses, cars, holidays, bank balance, jet?
Awards?
Platinum card, title?
Doing what and when you want?
Fan club, followers, "likes"?
CEO, board membership?

But...

What are you willing to do to get there?

Cheat, lie, steal, back stab?

Or will you do the best you can, for all your 'people', all the time?

But more importantly, what will you do when the going gets tough, really tough?

That answer will be an indicator to your chance for REAL success.
And your strength of character.

Are you on the outside, looking in?

Or you are you on the inside, looking out?

When changeing jobs and going to interviews, it is always easy to see what you like to see: greener grass, wonderful opportunities, exciting challenges.
However, when you get there you realise that grass is grass, people are people and politics are politics. Nothing new here. Hopefully you will not get too sucked into the day to day stuff that you forget what made you go there, what excited you in the first place. Be more than they were looking for. Cause ripples.

2011 is upon is in 35 days

Time now to prepare for the holidays and festive season.

Time for reflection - how was 2010 for you?

Did you learn something? Did you teach someone?

Do you have plans for 2011? Are they awesome?

MY plans are awesome.

Time for mid-year review

Have you made progress with your goals? If not - why not?

What will you have to change - or are they not important?

Hold yourself accountable.

Surprise, surprise

My boss, prim and proper, very business like, sent me and a few others a funny email today. I'd seen it before but coming from him - - - really very funny. It surprised me, he actually has a humourous side too. Just when you think you know someone...

Colleagues from hell

Why are some people so pompous and self-important, yet everybody knows they are only breathing fire to cover up their own or their teams stuff-ups? It really gets to me. Some people really need to grow up. RED personalities are not condusive to proper problem resolution (they think they know everything). Anyway. I feel better now.
